INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

WHAT TO EXPECT

How do I schedule an appointment?  Please contact me directly to find an appointment time that fits your schedule.  You can reach me through call, text, email or the contact form at the bottom of the home page on this site.

How do I get started?  Once we have scheduled your initial appointment, you will complete an intake form, online through my patient portal, prior to the appointment.  This form will help me gather basic information about your current symptoms, family history and goals for our work together.  During our first appointment we will review some additional forms, take care of housekeeping/logistic needs, review your completed intake form, discuss your needs and hopes for our work together and most importantly, get to know each other!  Please note, payment is expected at beginning of session.

What's Next?  To get started, I recommend you attend weekly sessions.  This is helpful for three reasons.  First, it allows us to build a solid, therapeutic relationship; which is what I believe is the foundation for our work together. Second, it gives me adequate time to gain an understanding of your current needs and make a clinical recommendation about what frequency would be most appropriate on an ongoing basis.  Lastly, it gives you an opportunity to see how weekly sessions feel so you can also provide input when we discuss future treatment needs.

FEES AND PAYMENT

SESSION COST

My fee is $135.00 per individual session. Individual sessions are 50 minutes long and payment is due at the time of service.  I accept payment in cash, check or card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diner‘s Club, and JCB, HSA (health savings account) cards and FSA (flex savings account cards.)

INSURANCE

I do not bill insurance directly but as a free, extra service can provide the necessary documentation for you to request reimbursement from your insurance provider.  Reimbursement depends on your specific plan, deductible and coverage for out of network mental health services provided by a Licensed Professional Counselor. If applicable, you will receive a diagnosis based on your current symptoms after we've completed the assessment process. Insurance companies typically have restrictions on what specific diagnostic codes they will accept. Many people find it more convenient, confidential and cost effective to pay out of pocket for mental health services; this option also allows you more freedom and choice to find a provider that is the right fit for you.

I am a TLHT Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the State of Florida. I have been approved by the Florida Board of Clinical Social Work & Marriage and Family Counseling & Mental Health Counseling to provide telhealth services to individuals located in Florida. My License number is #3568
